Our teen department is decked out with pleasure reads and summer reading titles.
Get 'em while they're hot! Admittedly, it won't make much sense without the first three titles in the series. But they are ALL SO GOOD. Maggie? We love you.
We asked a favorite teen reader for her top titles and she gave us more than 20! Here's the first installment in a series we're calling Claire's Picks. Enter one of Melina Marchetta's many magnificent worlds of fantasy with this series. We also love Marchetta's other titles including: Jellicoe Road and Saving Francesca.
"Filled with moments of deep emotion and unexpected humor, this understated and wise novel explores the complexities of living with OCD and offers the prospect of hope, happiness and healing. Perfect for readers who love Eleanor & Park and All the Bright Places." This lovely photo is credited to litrec.com. Check out the blog for a note about dinner with author Teresa Toten!
We love the way that Toten tackles the realistic fiction genre. We also love the audiobook performance. Read this book! Any of these on your to read list? Or perhaps it's time for the first in a series. We recommend getting a jump start on the Raven Cycle or The Wrath and the Dawn. Enjoy!!
Thanks as always to Epic Reads for the epic compilation of new and fancy titles. _ "Even if you knew love could kill you, what would you risk to experience it — just once? Just for a little while?"
NY Times, Sunday Book Review The audio book is recommended - although it's a treat to have this book in hand. Lovely doodles, diagrams and charts pepper the pages throughout. Highly recommended! |
